Education: M.A. Ph.D. —taught Gujarati Literature at Graduate and Post Graduate levels for 13 years in various colleges; and for 27 years in the Department of Gujarati, School of Languages, Gujarat University, Ahmedabad, India.  —accomplished major research project on: “The Problem of Literary Meaning”: sponsored by UGC, New Delhi: 1992 to 1994.  —headed the department at least for a decade and retired as Professor as well as a Professor Emeritus in 2004.

Literary Activities:

 Founder member of “Suresh Joshi Sahityavichar Forum”. (since 1989). (Forum is dedicated to seminars and workshops for short story writing.); of “Sannidhan” (since 1991) (Organization is dedicated to teaching programs –in connection of university curriculum.); of “Punarapi” (since 2011) (Organization is dedicated to training programs for college and university teachers : skills : VyaaKhyaan-kalaa, Lekhan-kalaa, Chrchaa-vishesh and Vaachan-vishesh. )

Travelled to abroad: UK, USA, The Netherlands, Germany, France, Switzerland, Kenya and Thailand.

Current areas of interest: Meaning in Literature; Post-Modernism and contemporary Gujarati Literature; Post-Colonialism in relation to Regional Literature; Diaspora Gujarati Literature; Short Story –as an inescapable literary genre of our time; Analytics: teaching problems of literature in universities.
